Reel Causes proudly returns as an Outreach Partner at the 35th Vancouver International Film Festival! Please join us for Fire at Sea (Fuocoammare), Gianfranco Rosi’s mesmerizing, intricately  human piece, winner of the Golden Bear for Best Film at the Berlin Film Festival 2016. Subtly and skillfully juxtaposing the story of illegal migrants fleeing Africa for the safety of Italy’s isolated Lampedusa, with that of the lives of the tiny island’s residents, Rosi captures the complex humanitarian crisis unfolding in Europe with a sensitivity that both astounds and moves us.

“It is an amazing film.” – The Financial Times

Fire at Sea is masterly filmmaking” – The Guardian
